Half-centuries from Kevlon Anderson and Tevin Imlach were the highlights as Guyana Harpy Eagles ended day one of their fourth-round game in the West Indies Four-Day Championship on 231-5 against Barbados Pride at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.

Sent into to bat on Wednesday, Harpy Eagles were given a solid opening partnership by left-handers Tagenarine Chanderpaul and Matthew Nandu.

Nandu however, was run out in a terrible mix-up for 28 off 72, while the out-of-form Chanderpaul grafted for 40 off 145 balls.

Vice-captain Anderson then played a breezy knock of 87 off 129 balls, striking 16 fours, while skipper Imlach was more circumspect, his 55 spanning 162 balls and including six fours.

Kemol Savory fell for seven before the close, with Kevin Sinclair not out on five.

Bowling for Barbados Pride, Jason Holder has far taken 2-29, with a wicket apiece for Kemar Roach and Jomel Warrican.
