Cattle farmer charged with discharging loaded firearm, assault, other offenses

Keon Norville, a 30-year-old cattle farmer of Vigilance, East Coast Demerara, was charged on Wednesday with several offenses including two counts of discharging a loaded firearm with intent against Kenya Stoby and Donna Simon.

Police Headquarters reported that the accused was arrested on March 5; he appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore where the charges were read to him.

He pleaded not guilty to both charges and was placed on $150,000 bail each. The matter was adjourned to April 22, 2024.

In addition to the above-mentioned charges, Norville also answered two other charges – assault causing actual bodily harm committed on Kwesi Daniels and possession of ammunition without a license.

He pleaded not guilty and was placed on $25,000 bail for the assault charge and $45,000 for the ammunition charge. The matter was adjourned to April 24, 2024.
