Matthew Hugh, a 20-year-old resident of Centenary Street, Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara, and Royan Shamar Roberts aka ‘Pooksie’, a 19-year-old of Lot 65 Nabaclis, ECD, were charged on Wednesday with stealing a goat and cow.

Police Headquarters reported that the duo was arrested on March 10. They appeared at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Peter Hugh where the charge of larceny of goat was read to them and they were not required to enter a plea.

Bail was granted in the sum of $75,000 for each accused. The matter was adjourned to March 27, 2024.

Meanwhile, Roberts also answered to a separate charge of larceny of cattle. Bail was granted in the sum of $75,000. This matter was adjourned to March 27.

“Residents in the communities of Enmore, Haslington, Nabaclis and Golden Grove have, for several weeks now, been complaining to the Police about the loss of their cattle and goats,” the Police release noted.
