Police are investigating the death of a baby boy whose naked body was discovered among a heap of garbage at the Haags Bosch Landfill site at Eccles, East Bank Demerara on Friday.
The discovery was made at around 12:10 hrs by a labourer who was doing recycling work at the dumpsite, the News Room was informed.
The News Room understands that the baby boy is of mixed ancestry and is about one day to a week old; the right arm is amputated from the shoulder.
An Operation Manager of the dumpsite told the police that garbage and waste materials from residential and commercial properties, the Georgetown Public Hospital and the Infectious Disease Hospital would be dumped at the facility.
The body is presently at the Memorial Gardens parlour.
