A collision between two motorists on the No.64 Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice has left one person dead and another injured.
Dead is Jaggat Narine, 66, of No.64 Village, Upper Corentyne Berbice. The injured man has been identified as David Rambasdeo, 21, of Johanna North, Black Bush Polder.
Reports are that Narine was riding motorcycle – CH 7631 – while Rambasdeo was riding another motorcycle with its license plate number unknown. The accident occurred at approximately 19:15 hrs along the No.64 public road.
Based on reports, Rambasdeo was heading riding in the eastern drive lane reportedly at a fast rate when Narine is said to have turned out from an access street on onto the No.64 village main road. Narine reportedly collided with the other motorcycle on the western drive lane resulting in both motorcyclists falling onto the road.
Rambasdeo was picked up in a conscious state and taken to the Skeldon Public Hospital where he was admitted and is being treated.
Narine was pronounced dead.
