Jose Felix Lindore, 32, and Javier Perez, 33, both Venezuelan nationals, were arrested in connection with the recent drug bust onboard a “go fast” vessel at Vergenoegen, East Bank Essequibo.

The operation was carried out by CANU and the Guyana Defence Force Coast Guard on March 29 and 1,181  pounds of cocaine were seized from the vessel.

The vessel was intercepted with the two occupants on board.

On Sunday, CANU said the two men were escorted to its headquarters.

The narcotics carry a street value in Guyana of US$2.6 million. According to CANU, had the cocaine been transshipped to its intended destination it would’ve amounted to a street value of over 20 million euros.
