President Ali voted the 2024 Caribbean Global Leader

In recognition of his exemplary leadership in development and the advancement of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), President Dr Irfaan Ali was named the Caribbean Global Leader for 2024.

“After a meticulous analysis and a record-breaking 609 valid votes cast by the public, Guyana’s President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali have been recognised as the Caribbean Global Leader in the People’s Choice category,” the Caribbean Global Awards announced.

Dr. Ali topped the list of ten leaders from across the Caribbean with Barbados Prime Minister, Mia Mottley copping the second spot.

The other leaders are Prime Minister of Grenada, Dickon Mitchell; Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness; Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Terrance Michael Drew; Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines; Ralph Gonsalves; Prime Minister of Bahamas, Philip Davis; Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Keith Rowley; Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Gaston Browne and Dominica’s President, Sylvanie Burton.

According to the Caribbean Global Leader, each of these leaders demonstrated “remarkable” dedication to their nations and the wider Caribbean.

“Their vision, commitment and tireless efforts have significantly contributed to the region’s progress and prosperity,” the release stated.

The Caribbean Global Awards aims to celebrate excellence and leadership in the Caribbean region.

The award recognises individuals and organisations making significant contribution to the advancement and development of the Caribbean Community.
