Vagrant found dead with stab wound


Edward Bramnarine, a 49-year-old vagrant, was found dead late Thursday night with a stab wound to his chest and a cut on his right wrist at Water and Holmes Streets, Georgetown.

Police Headquarters reported that the man, who is also known as Eddy, was found lying motionless in a pool of blood by a female vendor in the area. The woman reportedly knew Bramnarine for about 18 years.

The woman called the Ambulance Service immediately. Bramnarine was pronounced dead when examined by a doctor.

Police said Bramnarine was seen lying on his back, with what appeared to be blood stains on his clothing and the ground. His injuries were later uncovered by detectives.

The scene was processed by detectives and several persons were questioned. Bramnarine’s body was taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination.
