Alex Benjamin, a 25-year-old miner from Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast, Region Two, was on Friday charged and sentenced to three months imprisonment after he assaulted three Police Officers.
Police Headquarters reported that Benjamin appeared before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke at the Suddie Magistrate’s court on Friday.
The court heard that Benjamin assaulted the ranks from the Aurora Police Station and Richard Faikal Academy on Monday, April 1, 2024. He also resisted arrest.
During his court appearance, all the charges were read to the defendant and he pleaded guilty to all charges. As such, he was sentenced to three months imprisonment for each offence. The sentences will run concurrently.
