A 56-year-old Recht-Door-Zee, West Bank Demerara woman was brutally murdered on Sunday by her husband, who later took his own life.
Dead is Sarah Bacchus Arjoon, a saleswoman. The suspect has been identified as Khemraj Arjoon, 69.
Police Headquarters said the incident occurred sometime between 11:30 hrs and 15:30 hrs at the couple’s Recht-Door-Zee, Parfaite Harmonie house.
According to a Police report, Arjoon’s 13-year-old daughter returned home and discovered her lifeless body in a pool of blood inside a bedroom.
“The teen also found her father gasping for breath on the bed, emitting a strong smell of poison,” Police Headquarters said.
He succumbed on Sunday night at the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he was admitted under guard.
Police further said that a note implicating the woman in an alleged affair was found nearby.
“The note was written on a piece of cardboard,” the release noted.
The suspected murder weapon, a knife was found at the scene.
Now, this 13 y.o. child has no mother, no father, because of the senseless killing of his wife.
It’s good he drank poison… a loser all around.
