Cricket West Indies has announced that this year’s Super50 will likely return to Trinidad and Tobago from October to November, and Guyana could potentially host the finals.

Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe explained on Monday that the success of hosting the 2023 tournament in the Twin Island Republic prompted the move to have it return with the consideration for “Guyana to host the final rounds possibly.”

Guyana has not hosted the Regional Super50 final since 2011, when Jamaica won at the National Stadium, Providence. Preliminary matches were held in 2013.

Guyana has not won the tournament since 2005, when the final was played at the Georgetown Cricket Club, Bourda. In that match, Guyana defeated Barbados in fading light to lift the title.

Though Guyana has not hosted the male Super50 tournament in over a decade, the country has hosted the Women’s Super50 and T20 Blaze in recent years, along with the last finals of the Caribbean Premier League.
