Skeletal remains of a human were found at Enterprise ‘A’ Field, East Canjie, Berbice Tuesday morning.
According to a statement from Police Headquarters, the discovery was reported around 08:30 hrs by Devpersaud Hublall, a 41-year-old security sergeant and Deon Victor, a 56-year-old security constable attached to Rose Hall Estate, East Canje, Berbice.
The two men reported the discovery to the Reliance Police Station.
Police were dispatched and on arrival, the security personnel pointed out an area inside of the cane field where a skull and bones which appeared to be ‘human remains’ were seen.
A cane harvester claimed that around 07:45 hrs, he was working in the area where the discovery was made.
As a result, he informed the field foreman who notified the police. The scene was processed by crime scene ranks and the remains were retrieved.
Investigations are ongoing.
