Essequibo businesswoman Kameel Kissoon on Wednesday said she is seeking public assistance to find one of her employees who is accused of stealing two Yamaha engines and a boat valued at $1.1 million from her.

The woman who lives and conducts farming and fishing at Dukalabu Island, along the Essequibo River, told the News Room that the man identified as Shaendra Ramkishore called ‘Sonobai’ was at the worksite last week when he allegedly stole the items.

The woman said on Tuesday last, the man and another employee were at the base where fishing and farming are done. The other employee told Kissoon that Ramkishore claimed he was told to collect the engines and boat.

It is alleged that the man left with two Yamaha engines valued at $650,000 and $330,000 and a boat valued at $200,000. He did not return and the woman now claims that he was without permission to collect the items.

A report of the theft was made at the Parika Police Station. Anyone with helpful leads can make contact with the police or Kissoon on 677-1916.
