Superb centuries from Kemol Savory and Tevin Imlach followed up with another exceptional spell from Veerasammy Permaul, have placed the Guyana Harpy Eagles in the ascendency at the end of day two in their West Indies Four-Day match against the Jamaica Scorpions at Sabina Park.

Savory turned his day one rescue act of 127 into a majestic 155 while Imlach, who retired hurt early in his innings, carved out a second straight First-Class century to end unbeaten on 101, as Harpy Eagles piled on 424.

Scorpions’ batsmen continued their struggle this season as Permaul ran rampant in bagging 5-55 from 21 overs with great support from budding pace talent Isai Thorne (2-15), Ronaldo Alimohamed (1-19) and Gudakesh Motie (1-46).

Veerasammy Permaul bagged yet another five-wicket haul at the First-Class level

West Indies white-ball batsman Brandon King has so far top-scored with 32, while former Harpy Eagles player Ramaal Lewis made 24. A limping Romaine Morris has defied the Eagles to be unbeaten on 21.

The Scorpions, who won two matches this season, are facing a third loss as they still need to reach 275 to make the Eagles bat again.
