KFC Elite League: GDF hammers Monedderlust 11-0

The Guyana Defence Force Football Club continued its winning ways with a dominant 11-nil victory over Monedderlust, while Ann’s Grove United got the better of Buxton United when the KFC Elite League continued Tuesday evening at the Guyana Football Federation’s Technical Training Centre at Providence.

From 5-0 at the half to 11-0 at full time, the West Berbice unit had no answers for the clinical soldiers who remained unbeaten after five matches into their title defence.

Obumchi Benjamin (27th, 42nd, and 84th ) and Stephen McDonald (45th, 72nd, and 82nd) scored hat-tricks, while Chris McCoy (39th, 79th ), Dorrel George (10th), Cedric Osbourne (55th), and Sherwyn Ceasar (90+3) scored the other five goals.

GDF is second behind Guyana Police Force FC, which has played seven matches.

In the earlier match, Ann’s Grove got their second win and kept Buxton winless when they got a 2-0 triumph.

Elton Sullivan (29th) and Yohance Francis (52nd)  scored for Ann’s Grove, who now move into seventh on the ten-team points table.

The tournament continues Saturday at Providence as the only other unbeaten team, inaugural champions Slingerz Football Club, face Buxton from 18:30h, followed by GDF and Western Tigers from 21:00h.
