A confrontation between a mother, her two sons and two men turned deadly Friday morning when the woman stabbed one of the men with whom her son had a disagreement.

Police Headquarters reported that the confrontation dragged on from Thursday night but the stabbing took place around 07:00 hrs Friday at Perry Street, Tucville, Georgetown.

The dead man was identified by the police as Amaziah Hohenkirk, a 36-year-old labourer of Unity Place Festival City. He was stabbed by Alicia Edmonson, a 42-year-old housewife who resides at Perry Street, Tucville.

According to reports, at about 23:15 hrs Thursday, Alicia and one of her sons, 24-year-old Darrel Kennedy had a misunderstanding with Hohenkirk over a damaged ‘speaker box.’

Around 6:50 hrs Friday, Alicia told another son, 21-year-old Malkchi Kennedy that Darrel abused her. Following the complaint, Malkchi went in search of Darrel but instead ran into Hohenkirk and another man identified as Sean.

Another argument ensued, leading them to Alicia’s residence.

During the confrontation there, Sean allegedly struck Alicia on her left wrist with a hockey stick. She armed herself with a knife and stabbed Hohenkirk once in the abdomen and once on his left and right wrists.

Hohenkirk fled the scene with Sean, entered a motor vehicle, and proceeded to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), where he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment.

The woman and her son Malkchi are presently in custody.
