Essequibo teen dies days after Perseverance accident

Days after he was involved in an accident on the Perseverance public road, Essequibo Coast, 17-year-old Shane Lall succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.

The News Room understands that Lall died while receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.

The accident occurred around 09:30 hrs on April 10.

Lall was heading north on the public road when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a motor vehicle.

Following the collision, Lall’s motorcycle burst into flames.

At the time of the accident, the motorcyclist was experiencing mechanical issues. It was leaking oil and overheating which reportedly caused it to overheat.

Lall sustained severe injuries to his head.

The body is currently at the hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
