Gun, ammo found in Onderneeming unoccupied building

Ranks of the Guyana Police Force Regional Division Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) on Friday discovered an illegal firearm and several rounds of live ammunition in an unoccupied house at Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo.

According to a Police report, ranks acting on information received went to the house at Back Street, Little Red Village, Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast around 17:30hrs.

A search was conducted in the house and one FN Browning .32 pistol, with the serial number filed off and one magazine containing six live .32 ammunitions were found under a zinc sheet.

There was also a pair of green and gray construction gloves nearby.

The items were taken and lodged at the police station.

Police said the firearm was processed for fingerprints but none was found.
