Off-spinner Avinash Mahabirsingh bagged 8-51 as Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) managed to restrict Guyana Harpy Eagles to a moderate 223 on day two of their West Indies Four-Day Championship match at the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground, Trinidad.

CCC then managed to build a lead of 143 with three wickets standing.

Starting day one 114-1, the Harpy Eagles fumbled an opportunity to capitalise on much-needed batting points to enhance their chances of defending the title, as Raymond Perez only added one to his overnight score of 61.

Kevlon Anderson did not add to his overnight score of 27 as wickets tumbled in clumps.

Tevin Imlach continued his excellent form as he made 55, only to be the last man dismissed by Mahabirsingh, while Kevin Sinclair made a run-a-ball 37.

Sinclair (2-29) along with fellow spinners Gudakesh Motie (2-40) and Veerasammy Peramul (2-44) produced a combined effort to keep CCC at bay despite half-centuries from Odain McCatty (56) and Shamarh Brooks (54*).
