The child’s father, Chandeker Raghu, told the News Room that the girl suffered from a fever, vomiting, and diarrhea.

He said he was outside for approximately 20 minutes and by the time he was allowed to enter again, his daughter died.

Raghu said the doctors told him they were treating her for dengue. He is calling on the relevant authorities to investigate what took place and noted that while he is a poor man he is seeking answers as to what happened to his daughter.

A post-mortem is expected to be conducted on Saturday.

The News Room understands that little Naiomi died a day before Arianna Mohabeer who passed away at the New Amsterdam Hospital. The Ministry of Health has since said that Arianna Mohabeer along with her brother Vishnu Mohabeer who died on Sunday, succumbed as a result of Dengue-related complications.
