A man who Police Headquarters said is a vagrant was shot outside the Lambada Bar along the Providence Public Road, East Bank Demerara on Monday last.
“Raj Mohammed, who is reportedly a vagrant, was shot in his left leg,” the police said.
Inquiries revealed that at about 11:45 hrs, the man was standing near the bar when an unknown person approached him and shot him in his left lower leg. The perpetrator then fled the scene.
The incident was reported to the police who visited the scene and found the victim injured.
He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital for treatment, where he is now hospitalised in a stable condition.
Investigations are ongoing.
