Charity FC made a winning start to the Essequibo Coast/Pomeroon Football Association (ECPFA) at the ‘Multi’ ground at the weekend, while Henrietta and Queenstown had to settle for an equal share of the points after a drawn encounter.

At the sound of the final whistle, Henrietta and Queenstown had failed to score, despite both teams showcasing determination and skills in setting the stage for an exciting season.

Striker Enrique Edwards was on target three times for Charity FC

On day two, it was goals galore for Charity, romping to a convincing 7-0 success over Tapakuma FC at the same venue to establishment themselves as early front-runners.

Led by a stellar performance from striker Enrique Edwards, Charity’s attacking prowess was on full display as they overwhelmed their opponents.

Edwards netted an impressive hat-trick, while Howard Wilson, Robin Wilson, Enteas Wilson and Darius Williams also made contributions, scoring one goal apiece to give Charity a commanding win.

Meanwhile, in the third scheduled match of round one, Dominators were handed a walkover victory as Good Hope FC failed to show up, granting Dominators an early boost in the standings.

The tournament will continue with another three games this weekend at the ‘Multi’ ground.

On May 4, Charity will take on Good Hope from 16:00h, while on the following day, Queenstown United will face Tapakuma from 14:00h and Mainstay Goal Stars against Henrietta from 16:00h.
