Dead is Joseph Forde called ‘Who U’, 44, of Middle Street Sparendaam, ECD.

The murder was allegedly committed between 21:30 and 21:45 hours at Victoria Road, Plaisance, ECD , by a man called  “Fatta” and “Kevin”.

He is yet to be apprehended.

Police Headquarters, in a statement, said  that at about 21:20hrs last Tuesday, Forde had intervened in a chopping incident between the suspect and another man in the area.

This resulted in an argument between Forde and the suspect, which was eventually resolved.

Following that chopping incident, Police said Forde contacted the victim’s relatives, who took him to the Georgetown Public Hospital.

However, on Thursday night, the Police said a friend of Forde claimed he received a call from a taxi driver  informing him that Forde was chopped and was taken to Georgetown Public Hospital.

“The taxi driver went to say that Forde, however, succumbed to his injuries,” Police said.

Forde’s body is at the hospital mortuary awaiting an autopsy.

Efforts are being made to locate the suspect.
