The four friends who were arrested for behaving disorderly after they were stopped at a police roadblock along the Diamond Public Road, East Bank Demerara on Monday night were released on $50,000 station bail each.

The News Room was reliably informed that the men are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday to answer to a charge of ‘Disorderly Behaviour’.

Police Headquarters in a statement said at approximately 21:15hrs, ranks in Regional Division 4B were conducting a ‘roadblock’ exercise at Diamond Public Road when a Land Cruiser bearing registration number, PAE 528 was stopped.

The driver, Paul Daby, a 29-year-old of 127 D’Aguiar Park, stopped his vehicle in the middle of the road, preventing the free flow of traffic.

Daby and his three friends, Deion Jerrick, Sherwayne De Abreau, and Alpha Poole, then became verbally abusive towards the police officers and proceeded to behave in a disorderly manner.

The ranks continued to carry out their duties, and the individuals and vehicle were searched. No illegal items were found.

What else are friends for ?
One for all and all for one. These are not young children by any means.
However, parking in the middle of roadway blocking traffic is a NO NO.
2-3 years prison time is not excessive… it goes for thumbing their noses at AUTHORITY, disrespecting
    lawful requests and the laws.
