Single mother robbed by masked men


Prampattie Mawram, a single mother of Golden Fleece Estate, Region Two (Pomeroon- Supenaam), was early Friday morning robbed by two masked thieves.

The News Room understands that the two masked men were armed with a shot gun.

The men reportedly gained entry to Mawram’s house at about 02:00 hrs Friday after removing some of her window panes.

Mawram was sleeping in her bed when she was approached by one of the men. When she saw him, the woman started to scream. One of the men, however, threatened to shoot her.

The men then reportedly demanded her cash and a gold chain. They also asked for her cellphone. The woman managed to scream for help, alerting her neighbour and eventually, escaped. The men, however, escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and jewellery.

A report was made to the Suddie Police station and investigators found the bandits’ footsteps in the woman’s yard. Investigations continue.
