The Afghanistan Cricket Board has confirmed Dwayne Bravo as a bowling consultant for the Afghanistan national team’s 2024 T20 World Cup campaign.
Bravo, who holds the record for the most wickets in T20 cricket, is currently supervising a 10-day training camp in St. Kitts and Nevis.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced on Tuesday that former West Indies star and T20 World Cup winner Dwayne Bravo will serve as a bowling consultant for the Afghanistan national squad for the T20 World Cup in 2024.
Dwayne John Bravo, 40, is a former right-arm medium-fast bowling all-rounder for the West Indies who has played 295 international matches, amassing 6423 runs and taking 363 wickets. He also has 100 First Class, 227 List A, and 573 T20 caps to his name.
Bravo is now T20 cricket’s highest wicket-taker, with 625 scalps. In addition, he has around 7000 runs in the format, making him one of the most successful fast-bowling all-rounders in T20 cricket.
Bravo’s brand of cricket and entertainment has earned him admiration and respect worldwide, winning several titles including the T20 World Cup, Champions Trophy, IPL, and CPL.
Besides his international player experience, Bravo has most recently served as the Bowling Coach for the Chennai Super Kings for the IPL 2024.
Afghanistan have already arrived in St. Kitts and Nevis and is expected to begin a 10-day-long training camp,, as part of their preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which the coaching staff, including DJ Bravo, will oversee. (India Today)
