Three persons, including two teenagers, were arrested following the discovery of 8,232 grammes of cannabis in a five-gallon jar at Washbay Creek, Port Kaituma.
The suspects are from Imbotero, North West District, Region One.
Police Headquarters, in a statement, said ranks, acting on information received, went to a makeshift camp in the area.
Upon their arrival, ranks observed one of the teenagers picking up the five-gallon jar and ran.
He was pursued by the ranks who eventually caught him.
The jar contained eight parcels of leaves, seeds, leaves and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The suspects were told of the offence committed and cautioned but they remained silent.
They were arrested and taken to the Port Kaituma Police Station, where the narcotics was weighed in their presence.
The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
