Police are on the hunt for two suspects who allegedly stabbed Shaquille Leacock, a 24-year-old unemployed resident of ‘C’ Field Sophia on Tuesday.
Police Headquarters reported that the incident occurred at about 17:30hrs; the names and addresses of the suspects are currently unknown.
Investigations revealed that Leacock was sitting on a culvert when a 20-year-old eyewitness saw him being chased by the two suspects. One of the suspects, armed with a knife, inflicted one stab wound to Leacock’s abdomen and another to his left thigh. Leacock managed to run out of the yard but soon collapsed. The suspects then fled the scene.
Leacock was found lying semi-unconscious, dressed in a white vest and dark shorts. An ambulance was called, and upon its arrival, he was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he is currently receiving treatment. Police said his condition is serious.
Efforts to locate the suspects have so far been unsuccessful. Investigations are ongoing.
