Sophia man attacked and stabbed dies

Shaquille Leocock, the 24-year-old man who was attacked and stabbed by two men on Tuesday, has succumbed to his injuries.

The News Room was reliably informed that Leocock died while receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) on Wednesday night.

Police Headquarters had said Leocock, a resident of ‘C’ Field, Sophia was sitting on a culvert when a 20-year-old eyewitness saw him being chased by the two suspects.

One of the suspects, armed with a knife, inflicted one stab wound to Leacock’s abdomen and another to his left thigh.

Leacock managed to run out of the yard but soon collapsed. The suspects then fled the scene.

Efforts to locate the suspects have so far been unsuccessful.
