Rutherford and Nedd retained by Patriots for CPL 2024

Guyanese all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford and talented left-arm Ashmead Nedd have been retained by the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots for CPL 2024, set for August 28 to October 6.
Rutherford and Nedd played key roles for the franchise last season, and much of the same is expected from the pair this season. The Guyanese duo is among 13 confirmed players for the Patriots, who now have four spots to fill at the draft in July.
Sri Lankan leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga and South African opening batter Rilee Rossouw headline their 2024 signings, with Zimbabwean international Sikandar Raza and hugely exciting Sri Lankan seam bowler Nuwan Thusara also in the squad. Their final overseas signing is South African batter Tristan Stubbs.

Openers Evin Lewis and Andre Fletcher are the Caribbean retentions, while all-rounder Odean Smith has been transferred from the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
The Republic Bank CPL 2024 will have two legs running concurrently, with all six teams hosting home matches.
For the first time since 2019, the event will visit six host countries, with matches set to take place in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, St Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago.
There will be 34 matches in total, with each of the six teams playing 10 group matches. The knockout stages will take place in Guyana, with the home team, the Guyana Amazon Warriors, looking to defend the title they won in 2023.
