Man, 22, nabbed with illegal gun

Tyrese David, a 22-year-old construction worker of Covent Garden, East Bank Demerara was nabbed with an unlicensed firearm Friday night.

Police Headquarters reported that ranks saw the man ran into a shop at about 22:30 hrs Friday. As a result, they chased after him and eventually apprehended him.

A search was conducted and .38 revolver was found in David’s possession. The serial number was reportedly filed off.

David was then informed of the offence committed and cautioned. He reportedly told Officers, “Sir, is me own. I got it from the interior.”

The ranks took possession of the firearm and arrested David. He was placed into custody at the Providence Police Station, East Bank Demerara. He is slated to be charged.
