Edinho Lewis, a 37-year-old unemployed man of Da Silva Street, Kitty, Georgetown was Saturday nabbed with an AK-47 rifle, a pistol, ammunition, various narcotics and other items.
Police Headquarters reported that ranks went to the man’s address at about 12:30 hrs Saturday, acting on information received.
When the man’s apartment was searched, several items were found. These include the rifle, one Glock 26 pistol, 830 live 7.62 ammunition, four live .223 ammunition, nine live 9mm ammunition, two live .32 ammunition, three AR-15 magazines, one AK-47 magazine, three Glock magazines and one gun silencer.
Additionally, Police found a quantity of ecstasy, 107 grammes of cocaine, and 544.3 grammes of cannabis.
The suspect was told of the offences committed, arrested and cautioned. A team from the Criminal Investigations Department Headquarters processed all articles found.
Lewis is presently in custody as investigations continue.
