A National Parent Teachers Association (PTA) was launched on Wednesday aimed at bringing together parents and teachers across the country to improve the delivery of education.

“Today marks a significant milestone in our journey towards fostering a collaborative environment where educators and parents unite, for the common goal of enhancing our children education,” said Michele Fraser, the president of the newly formed body.

The launch was held at Parc Rayne, Rahaman’s Park, Georgetown.

“The formation of the PTA body is a testimony to empower our children, to instill good values and guidance. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our children,” said Mr Edwin Seeraj, a member of the board of the National PTA.

The National PTA’s goals include overseeing every PTA, from nursery to primary, uniting regional and sub-regional bodies. The National PTA also seeks to bring together all those bodies representing schools at a tertiary, technical and vocational level under one umbrella.
