Shawn “Bolo” Latchman, a 29-year-old fisherman of Charity Squatting Area, Essequibo Coast, has been charged with the murder of another fisherman, 30-year-old Avienash Singh. Latchman reportedly accused Singh of having an affair with the mother of his children.
Latchman appeared before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday. He was not required to plead to the charge and was remanded to prison.
The case was adjourned to July 9, 2024 at the Charity Magistrate’s Court for report and disclosure of statements.
Singh was stabbed to death at Charity on Sunday.
Police Headquarters reported Singh and some friends were imbibing at the shop where Latchman was also present.
Singh was followed by Latchman after he left the shop when they got into a fight and Singh was stabbed.
