The Senior National Men’s will be aiming to beat Trinidad and Tobago again when they meet on Saturday

Guyana’s national men’s rugby team is brimming with confidence as they gear up for their rematch against arch-rivals Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday (June 22) at the Guyana Defence Force Ground, Camp Ayanganna, Georgetown.

The encounter marks the second leg of the Rugby Americas North (RAN) 15s fixture, following Guyana’s dramatic 24-23 triumph over Trinidad on home soil in the tournament opener.

According to captain Jamal Angus, the victory not only signified a successful return to the 15s format after a COVID-19 hiatus, but also served as a major morale boost for the young Guyanese squad.

Angus, a veteran of every NACRA/RAN tournament Guyana has participated in since 2014 (both 15s and the 2017 Sevens in Mexico), expressed his optimism about the potential of this new generation of players.

The match kicks off at 15:00h, and the Guyana Rugby Football Union is urging fans to come out in full force, clad in green to showcase their unwavering support for the national team.
