Security guard gets 28 months jail for larceny

A 27-year-old security guard has been sentenced to 28 months imprisonment after pleading guilty to larceny.
Hakeem Thomas from Timehri, East Bank Demerara, made his appearance before Magistrate A. Gibbs at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
He was charged with the offence of larceny committed on the dwelling house of Desiree Browne, a 67-year-old businesswoman of Goedverwagting, East Coast Demerara. The incident occurred between June 12th and 16th, 2024, at the businesswoman’s Goedverwagting home.
Thomas was arrested on Tuesday by a rank from the Alberttown Police Station.
