Guard arrested with illegal gun at Sophia Children’s Centre

A 41-year-old security guard was arrested in the wee hours of Thursday after he was found with an unlicensed Smith and Wesson .40 pistol with one magazine with four live .40 rounds of ammunition.

The security guard was stationed at the Children and Family Centre at Plum Park, South Sophia.

Police Headquarters, in a statement, noted that the security guard was asked if he had a license to carry the firearm and he said no.

He was then told of the offences committed, cautioned, arrested and escorted to the Alberttown Police Station. The firearm and ammunition were also lodged.
