2024 National Toshaos Conference confirmed for August 19-23

Minister of Amerindian Affairs, Pauline Sukhai on Friday announced that the annual National Toshaos’ Council (NTC) Conference will be held from August 19 to 23 this year.

“The NTC (National Toshaos Council) meeting take place this year. You are new Toshaos. You are returning Toshaos. It will take place in August.

“NTC Chair is here. We have had collaboration and consultation on the dates… The letters that will come out will come out advising you on the dates. We have to publish the holding of the NTC in a month’s time but if I am to let the cat out of bat it’s going to be in August around the 19 to the 23,” Sukhai said.

She announced the dates as she was addressing Toshaos of Region Nine at their Regional Toshaos Conference.

The NTC conference is held annually. The event brings together indigenous leaders from over 210 hinterland communities across the country, providing a platform for them to engage the government and stakeholders on issues pertaining to the development of their respective communities.

Plans are also drafted for the year ahead.
