Chinese nationals arrested with $39M as police dismantle criminal network

Three Chinese nationals, two males and one female, were arrested on Tuesday during an inter-agency intelligence operation at a city hotel that resulted in the seizure of $39 million.

Police Headquarters reported that an unlicensed 9mm pistol with 15 matching rounds of ammunition were also seized and said a criminal network was essentially dismantled.

Police reported that investigations have so far revealed that the suspects are part of a transnational criminal group involved in gold smuggling and other illegal activities. They are currently in police custody, assisting with the investigation.
