Flashback! Omesh Danram of Village Rams collects his Most Valuable Player prize from a representative of Assuria Insurance in 2023

Insurance giants Assuria General and Life Insurance Companies has once again pledged their support for the Kares One Guyana T10 Blast, committing to sponsor the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the tournament’s second edition.

Assuria will present a brand new motorbike, alongside a cash prize of $85,000, to the player adjudged MVP at the tournament’s grand finale on August 25th at the National Stadium in Providence.

The Kares One Guyana T10 Blast commences August 3, with matches scheduled across various venues, including the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC), Police Sports Club (PSC), and Queen’s College Ground.

The round of 16 matches will be on August 4 at DCC and PSC.

The quarter-finals will be contested on August 11 at the Enmore Community Centre Ground.

The highly anticipated Cricket for Charity match will also be held on August 25, adding another layer of excitement.

Organisers have confirmed that specific details regarding the motorbike model will be announced in the coming days. However, they expressed their immense gratitude towards Assuria for their unwavering support.

“We’re thrilled to have Assuria on board again this year,” said John Ramsingh of FL Sport, one of the tournament organizers.

“Last year, they readily stepped up to sponsor the MVP award, and this time, we’re taking it a step further by including a cash prize alongside the motorbike. This ensures all our individual award winners receive a valuable gift and financial recognition for their outstanding performances.”

In the inaugural edition of the tournament, Omesh Danram of Village Rams won the MVP award. Despite his team failing to reach the semi-finals, Danram impressed with his batting prowess, accumulating a remarkable 19.932 points.

Organisers have promised to reveal details regarding the remaining individual awards, including Most Runs, Most Wickets, and Player of the Final, in the coming days.

They emphasised their commitment to enhancing player rewards, building upon the increased cash prizes awarded last year.

“We’re constantly striving to offer greater benefits to our players,” Ramsingh continued.

“The generous support of corporate entities like Assuria allows us to turn our vision into reality. We’re incredibly grateful for their contribution and the backing of all companies who share our passion for giving back to community initiatives.”

The Kares One Guyana T10 Blast boasts a larger prize pool this year, with the winner taking home a cool G$1.5 million. The runner-up will receive G$500,000, while the losing semifinalists will each walk away with G$250,000.
