Malteenoes Cricket Camp focuses on building ’rounded’ talents

The Malteenoes Sports Club’s annual cricket camp commenced with a bang, as over 60 young cricketers flocked to the club to hone their skills and chase their dreams.
The camp, which runs until July 27, is focused on developing the fundamentals of the game.
With a rich history spanning over three decades, the Malteenoes Cricket Academy has been a breeding ground for cricketing talent.
The club’s motto, “Our Youth, Our Future,” underscores its commitment to nurturing young players.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport, Charles Ramson Jr., emphasided the importance of building a strong foundation in both sports and academics.
He encouraged the young cricketers to work hard, stay disciplined, and believe in themselves.
The camp boasts an impressive lineup of mentors, including former Guyana and West Indies cricketers, as well as the recently crowned U-19 Women’s T20 champions.
Their presence is expected to inspire the young players and provide invaluable guidance.
As the camp progresses, the young cricketers will be exposed to various aspects of the game, including batting, bowling, fielding, and fitness.
The ultimate goal is to produce well-rounded cricketers who can compete at the highest level.
The Malteenoes Cricket Academy has a proven track record of producing talented cricketers, and this year’s camp is expected to be no different.
