Skeletal remains believed to be those of Essequibo fisherman found in yard
The skeletal remains, suspected to be those of Feroze Khan, a 49-year-old fisherman from Danielstown on the Essequibo Coast, were discovered in his yard on Monday. The discovery was made by Khan’s brother, Shameer.
Feroze Khan had been missing since 21 June 2024, the date his brother last saw him.
Shameer, also a fisherman, said he last saw his brother riding a bicycle in Danielstown. Shameer left for sea that day and returned on Monday.
At around 17:30 hours, he checked for his brother and went to Feroze’s home.
There, he picked up a foul smell emanating from the yard and upon checking, he saw the skeletal remains. He concluded it was his brother’s remains due to the faded blue shorts and light purple jersey on the skeleton.
The police from Anna Regina were summoned, and the remains were taken to the Suddie Public Hospital Mortuary.
The Police are continuing their investigation.
