As momentum builds ahead of the third ‘Iron Man’ fitness competition on August 3, organiser Tremel King has received the backing of General Marine as a major corporate partner.
King, a trainer and principal of KING Level Fitness, on Wednesday met with officials of the company at their Middle Street, Georgetown, location where the formalities were conducted to seal the partnership.
The alliance was formalised during a function to announce General Marine as the official distributor of Kawasaki motorcycles in Guyana.
It was also declared that the overall winner of the ‘Iron Man’ competition will ride away with a spanking new bike, underlining General Marine’s commitment to fostering athleticism and community spirit.
For King, this union between KING Level Fitness and the company “has aligned well” as there are a lot of commonalities between the built and endurance of the Kawasaki brand and the virtues needed to compete in the Iron Man competition.
King expressed gratitude for what he said was a “generous contribution” from General Marine, noting that this investment marks a historic moment for the sports community in promoting fitness initiatives of this scale.
The fitness enthusiast reserved special praises for Managing Director of General Marine, Rahaman Khan, whom he singled out for his humility, and passion for sport development.
The ‘Iron Man’ competition is slated for the Scout Association Ground on Woolford Avenue, Georgetown, with athletes set to engage in various fitness activities and challenges.
Over G$1 million in prizes will be at stake, while there will be special prizes for the biggest bench, biggest curl, most pull-ups and most push-ups.
Tickets for the event cost G$2,500 each.
