The Ministerial Task Force on Trafficking in Persons has launched the 592TIP ball competition, a five-a-side football tournament aimed at raising awareness about human trafficking.

The tournament, featuring at least 18 teams across three categories, will kick off on July 28th at the Police Sports Ground, Eve Leary. Matches will be 10 minutes long, with two games played simultaneously. The winning team in each category will walk away with $100,000, while the runners-up will receive $60,000.

The competition is part of a series of activities planned for July, designated as World Trafficking in Persons Month. A booth will be set up at the tournament to educate the public about human trafficking.

Joel Gibson from the Probation Department highlighted the fast-paced nature of the tournament, with running substitutions allowed. Admission is free for all spectators.

With teams like Sophia Unstoppable, Sparta Boss, and Progressive Warriors participating, the competition promises to be fierce.

The official fixture list will be released shortly.

Among the teams competing for the grand prize and bragging rights are Sophia Unstoppable, Plum Park Warriors, Sparta Boss, Progressive Warriors, E Field Dynamic Ballers, Tucville Terrace, Back Circle B, Sophia B, CPCE Eagles, Festival City, A Field Warriors, Street Vibe, Herstelling Raiders, North Ruimveldt
