Saied Mohamed, a 24-year-old labourer was charged with rape of a child under 16 years and placed on $250,000 bail.
The defendant appeared before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Mohamed, a resident of Affiance, Essequibo Coast, is accused of committing the crime on September 19, 2022 at Suddie, Essequibo Coast.
Bail was granted with the condition that Mohamed does not interfere with the victim.
The case was adjourned to August 23, 2024 for disclosure of statements.
