There was a fatal stabbing early Friday morning at Kamarang Landing. The incident, which took place around 1:15 hrs, resulted in the death of Laurex Henry, a 27-year-old miner from Imbaimadai.
According to police reports, Henry had been at a local bar and left in the company of his friend, Delon Dedd Jr., a 31-year-old miner. Shortly after leaving the bar, Henry encountered a 40-year-old suspect, also a miner from Annai. An altercation ensued when Henry made racial remarks towards the suspect.
The suspect, who was reportedly carrying a knife, responded by stabbing Henry in the abdomen. Henry fell to the ground and was promptly transported to Kamarang District Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. Examination of Henry’s body revealed a single stab wound to the lower left side of his abdomen, with his intestines protruding from the wound.
The suspect has been located and, upon interrogation, admitted to the crime. He reportedly told investigators, “I did it because he come around me funny.”
The suspect is currently in police custody as the investigation continues. Authorities are working to gather further details and determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
