Austin, Hinckson and Springer among 10 Guyanese heading to World U-20 Championships
Ten promising young Guyanese athletes will represent their country at the World Athletics U-20 Championships in Lima, Peru, from August 27 to September 1.
The team, selected by the Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG), includes a mix of experienced and up-and-coming stars. Carifta Games medalists Athaleyah Hinckson and Tianna Springer headline the women’s squad, joined by Narissa McPherson and Nalicia Glen.
On the men’s side, Kaidon Persaud, Malachi Austin, Dh Neilson Gill, Enoch Munroe, Jackson Clarke, and Ezekiel Newton will be vying for glory.
The athletes will be supported by team manager Sheryl Hermonstine, coach Julian Edmonson, and physiotherapist Aretha Legall.
All team members earned their spots through outstanding performances in international competitions over the past year.
