At approximately 15:00 hrs on Saturday, a disturbing call was made to the Police 911 Hotline reporting a body floating in a trench along Eccles Dumpsite Road. Responding to the call, police officers arrived at the scene to find the partly decomposed body of a female.
The woman, believed to be of mixed ancestry and aged between 30 and 40, was discovered face-down in the trench. The body was clad in long black tights, a grey armless top, and one-side slippers. Notably, the face was swollen, and what appeared to be a mixture of blood and water was observed flowing from the nostrils.
Upon examination by a Crime Scene Investigator (CSI) at the site, no visible marks of violence were detected on the body. The remains were subsequently removed from the trench and transported to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home for further identification and a post-mortem examination.
