Another match  and another Guyanese spinner has performed remarkably in Trinidad and Tobago at the Regional Under-17 Two-Day tournament

Left-arm spinner Golcharran Chulai followed up his first innings haul of 4-34 with 6-28 in the second innings, which helped Guyana defeat the Leeward Islands by ten wickets at the National Cricket Centre in Couva.

The young lad, who hails from the county of Essequibo, ended with match figures of 10-62 from 33.4 overs.

Chulai led the charge as Guyana dismissed the Leeward Islands for 127 in their second innings, which gave Guyana a target of 96.

De-Antre Drew (40) and Eirette Richards (32) mustered to fight for Leeward, as off-spinner Romario Ramdeholl took his tally to 15 wickets in two matches as he supported with 3-31.

An unbroken opening partnership ushered Guyana to their first victory as skipper Jonathan Van Lange promoted himself and blasted 65* from just 31 balls – hammering seven sixes and three fours, while Rampersaud Ramnauth made 19* (2x4s).

The pair raced to their target in 7.1 overs.

Resuming on 97-2, Guyana was bowled out for 176, with several batters getting starts but not converting.

Emmanuel Lewis (28) and Romesh Barrat (33) did not add much to their overnight scores, while Adrian Hetmyer (22) and Riyad Latiff (20) ensured Guyana took a lead of 32.
