After the completion of the opening stage, Guyana’s cycling team has made a solid start to the 33rd Tour Cycliste de Guiana.
The challenging 90.4-mile route tested the riders’ endurance and tactical abilities of the 112 starters.
According to a release from the Guyana Cycling Federation, Briton John emerged as the leading Guyanese cyclist, finishing within a minute and fourteen seconds of the race leader.
Cortis Dey demonstrated resilience, finishing close behind John.
The rest of the team battled through the tough conditions, including Christopher Griffith, Paul Chooweenam, and Alex Mendes.
The GCF expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance and believes it is “well-positioned” for the remaining stages of the race.
